Stranger Things fans are going wild after Netflix released a first look at Season 4 Volume 2, which drops on the streaming platform on 1 July.

Fans were left with a major cliffhanger at the end of the first instalment. Not only were half of the gang trapped in the Upside Down, but viewers were left to wonder about Nancy Wheeler's (Natalia Dyer) fate after she was captured by Vecna.

Nancy was just about to climb to safety when Vecna infiltrated her mind, taking advantage of Nancy's guilt for Barb Holland's death in the very first season of the show.

Fans will remember that Barb was killed by a Demogorgon while waiting for Nancy outside Steve Harrington's house.

Luckily, thanks to a first look from Netflix, fans are adamant that Nancy must have survived the capture.

"Here's your first look at Stranger Things 4 Vol 2 to tide you over until 1 July," the streaming platform explained, posting four images alongside.

Nancy can be seen in one of the photos, leading fans to believe she's safe and sound. One person wrote on Twitter: "So Nancy survives then."

While another said: "So Nancy's fine then," as a third added: "YESSSSS NANCY DOESNT DIEEE!!!"

"Nancy is alive!!! Thanks Netflix for this Spoiler," wrote a fourth.

Last week, we told you how fans had been sent into overdrive by the trailer for part two of season four.

Fans of the hit Netflix show had been watching the clip frame-by-frame for clues about what’s about to happen next - and they’re worried for Robin.

This concern made its way onto Twitter, where one user posted two screenshots from the trailer that suggests she’s the next character to fall prey to Vecna.

While Volume 1 of the latest series was made up of seven episodes, Volume 2 will feature just two - but they're both feature-length.

The Duffer brothers, who created the show, explained to Variety the reasons behind this. They said: “Episode 7 really serves as the end of the second act—and we feel that our final act had enough meat on the bone to make up Volume 2.

"As we began turning over episodes, everyone began to feel the season was too big to be released in one batch—at nearly 13 hours, it is really more two seasons than one.

"We discussed various release options with Ted [Sarandos, Netflix’s CEO], and early on he proposed the two volume split, which would allow us to break up the season while also staying true to Netflix’s binge model.”

Vol. 2 of the fourth season of Stranger Things will drop on Netflix on 1 July.
