A South Carolina man filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against a portable toilet rental company and a national campgrounds company, alleging he suffered physical and emotional injury after being stuck inside a moving portable unit for close to an hour.

The man filed the suit in Charleston County, claiming he became trapped in a portable shower trailer at a Charleston Kampgrounds of America site in February 2020.

He realized he was in trouble when he felt the structure move while he was still inside, according to a report.

An employee of Nature's Calling loaded the structure onto a vehicle with the plaintiff inside and transported it for at least 45 minutes, according to the lawsuit.

The worker who loaded the structure admitted he failed to check if anyone was inside before loading the unit.

The man was "tossed around inside the toilet stall of the trailer along with feces, urine, and other bodily fluids for the duration of the trip," he said.

When he was finally freed, he alleges he emerged from the unit "covered in waste matter."

The man sustained physical injuries, which resulted in "substantial" medical bills and "mental anguish, emotional distress, and humiliation," according to the lawsuit.

The plaintiff named Nature's Calling, United Site Services, Kampgrounds of America, and the employee who transported the unit in the lawsuit.

Per a report, the defendants have not yet been served.
